And it begins….day 4

After a bumpy ride from Phenom Penh to Siem Reap, during which our bus driver impressed us with rather daring driving techniques and total lack of fear, we arrived at the Encore Angkor Hotel at about 6:30pm. We had a quick meal and fell into our beds exhausted.

Today we were all up bright and early and headed off nervously to the Siem Reap Teacher Training College where the workshops were to be held. After the opening ceremony the real work began. Creative activities and get-to-know-you sessions ensued and there was plenty of laughter to be heard from each classroom as the Aussie teachers got into their swing! Meanwhile, the project team braved the markets and tested their negotiation skills to acquire some supplies for the scheduled school visits. All SeeBeyondBorders volunteers thoroughly enjoyed the first day in Siem Reap!

More to come soon!
